Terms of supply

Quotes

A request on our website asks for a quote; it isn’t an order. Your quote shows the topsoil, tonnes, delivery details and price, and how long it stays open.

Orders

Your order is placed once you accept the quote and a delivery date is confirmed. The minimum order is five tonnes, and five tonnes of each grade where an order includes more than one.

Access and the delivery site

You’re responsible for telling us about access to the site, including widths, overhead obstructions, weight limits, weak surfaces, buried services and soft ground. A loaded lorry is heavy; please make sure the place you ask us to tip can take it.

We deliver to your site or the closest suitable point the lorry can safely reach. The driver can decline to tip in a place that isn’t safe or suitable. Permission for any load on a road or pavement must be arranged by you before delivery.

Delivery

We agree a delivery date with you. If we need to change it, we’ll tell you as soon as we can and agree another date. If the lorry can’t deliver because of access that wasn’t described, a further charge may apply for another visit.

The material

Topsoil is a natural product. Colour, texture and stone content vary a little between loads. Weight varies with moisture. Where a project calls for a particular specification, raise it before ordering and we’ll say whether our current material meets it.

Checking your delivery

Look over the load once it’s tipped. If something isn’t as ordered, let us know on the day of delivery and send a photo.

Payment

Payment terms are shown on your quote. Trade accounts have their payment terms agreed when the account is set up.

Cancelling and your rights

Plans change: if you need to alter or call off an order, get in touch before the delivery day. Consumers keep all of their statutory rights under these terms.

Liability

Your topsoil is supplied with reasonable care and skill. These terms don’t try to exclude any liability the law says can’t be excluded, such as liability for negligence that results in death or injury.
