Bulk topsoil questions

We’re set up for bulk loads on a tipper, so orders start at five tonnes. You can put two or more grades on one request, as long as each is five tonnes or more.

Fill in our quote request with each grade, its tonnes, your postcode and the access details. We work out the price for the load delivered and send it to you.

Delivery is a big part of the cost of a bulk load and it depends on the postcode, the access and the lorry needed. Pricing each request means you get a figure for your actual site.

Yes. Choose “Phased over a project” on the quote form and describe the stages in the notes.

Multiply the area in square metres by the depth in metres to get cubic metres, then multiply by roughly 1.4 for screened topsoil to get tonnes. Our topsoil calculator does the sums for you.

It’s sensible. Loose soil settles once it’s spread and firmed, and weight varies with moisture. Many people add around 10%.

Often, yes. Tell us the width of the entrance, the surface, and anything overhead. The driver decides on the day whether it’s safe to tip in the spot you’ve chosen.

Bulk bags lifted off by crane can be placed where the lorry has room to stand nearby. Choose “bulk bags” or “not sure” on the form and we’ll advise.

Only with permission from the council, which you’ll need to arrange before the delivery is booked.
